I find that sometimes the simpliest idea brings in the most response. I received quite a few emails about the last post on hand over hand techniques.
Two people in particular made me want to share their input. Krista, of the Hospice Foundation, put a link to their excellent blog that focuses on hospice and palliative care. Remember, in the end stages of the disease, comfort care and a simply environment make sense. The hand over hand technique is a gentle way to help folks through their day. Be sure to check out this informative blog.
Wendy, a community health nurse from New Zealand, works with caregivers of all types and wondered if anyone out there has used this technique with adults or children with autism. Does anyone have information on this?
Readers, feel free to post your comments! In this global arena, we have so much info to share.
