Suzi Plooster

Seems pitiful for us caregivers to know "that dementia is a terminal illness" and the health care/medical establishment to not see it as that. It certainly has not been in the "curable" range that I know of! Just another case of the medical professionals being behind the current knowledge, as was the case with heart problems for so many years.

Hi Suzi: I agree with you!

Anyone who has been a dementia caregiver, worked in the field or knows the disease course knows that it is terminal.

When I first read about the study, I couldn't believe that this study was the first to officially report dementia as a terminal illness. It seemed impossible to me. I kept digging and yes, it is true.

It is sad though; you are right.
